We are blessed at First Congregational with remarkably gifted musicians both on staff and within the congregation. Music and other forms of performance are part of our congregational DNA.
The Senior Choir, for adult and high school singers, rehearses on Wednesday nights from 7:30-8:30 PM and sings three to four Sundays a month from September through May.
The Bell Choir, for adult and high school ringers, rehearses on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30 PM and contributes to worship several times between September and May.
Depending on age demographics and interest, we also find ways to offer choral and bell choir experiences for our children and youth.
During the summer and on various occasions throughout the year, members and friends of the congregation and other local musicians join us to offer special music. Our Music Director, Dr. Mark Pruett, coordinates these enriching musical offerings.
Spring Arts Festival
The Music Committee puts on an annual Spring Arts Festival featuring performances and art exhibits by members and friends of the congregation.
Spring of 2018 was the first year of what we hope will become an annual, intergenerational musical. A cast of 28 members and friends, age six through age 80, performed Godspell on Holy Saturday. Given the gifts and interests of this congregation, we may make a tradition of staged musical performance!
