At First Congregational, we appreciate creative worship. And at First Congregational, that creativity can take many forms…
Sunday Morning Services
Our early service on Sunday mornings is a contemplative service that uses liturgies from the Iona Community in Scotland. The liturgies are both poetic and brief, interspersed with sung chants from Taizé in France as well as from Iona. In place of a sermon, each service offers ten minutes of silent reflection following the scripture readings. The service is a half hour long. Communion is served monthly and is open to all.
Our 10am service offers a blend of contemporary and traditional styles, great music, lyrical prayers and provocative sermons. Communion is served monthly and is open to all.
On the second Saturday of each month (September through May) from 4-6pm, Messy Church offers children, parents and sensory-oriented adults a lively experience of storytelling, play and worship in the comfortable setting of the Fellowship Hall. Messy Church includes a simple supper shared family-style, and it ends early to accommodate young kids’ bedtimes and evening activities.
